SFP+ Direct Attach Copper Cable Basical Information

Transceivers must be attached to a direct attach cable to travel to the other end of the module for communication. And here comes to the direct attach cable. The standard SFP+ direct attach cables are offered in different wire gauges depending on the length. The SFP+ cable assemblies are hot swappable and have a programmed EEPROM signature that enables the host to get the difference between the copper assembly cable and the fiber optic module. The cables have low power consumption making them quite economical.

The SFP+ dac is a fully hot pluggable direct attach cable that support 10Gigabit Ethernet and Fiber Channel applications that are connected through the Small Form Factor Pluggable ports. The cables are designed for the short length to offer high-speed interconnections with the use of low power.
